Feel free to remove this if it is too off topic, but I thought it might be ok as there are a lot of people in London who'd love a workshop.... I certainly did and was the main reason we bought the flat in the first place! Anyway - it's a one bed in Walthamstow about a 4 min walk from Wood Street Station. New kitchen, freshly decorated and ready to move in. There is a small but nice garden that is a great sun trap and garage which I have installed high power cabling in to run all the tools needed for a car or bike restoration/tinker such as welding equimpent etc and with a lot of wall sockets all round. I've built a really strudy bench in there too that will stay. If you have a long car you may need to move this to the side. It's bigger than most garages - not just an up and over with no power! I'm really gutted to sell as it's unlikely that we'll be able to get another house with a garage. I really want it to go on to someone who will use it for working on rather than just storage, hence the appeal here! I'm pretty sure that this is one of the only 1 beds in London with a garage - we looked for a year before we saw one and instantly pounced on it. We're looking for offers £325k - £350k If you're interested please contact our estate agent here - www.stowbrothers.com/property/residential/for-sale/london/havant-road/TSB27884212

Wow! £350K would currently buy you a 19 bedroomed country pile in Perthshire, a farm with 50 acres in mid Wales or you could come to the South Wales valleys and buy half a street!

Lovely flat! Regional differences in house prices are hilarious. One of the reasons we're planning on moving from Sussex to Gloucestershire is so we can actually have a sensible sized house with garage and driveway, something we'd need at least half a million for around here!

Or buy this in my street for about the same... House Shed I know.... and the joke is that we live right at the end of the tube line, no way near central! London prices are insane, but will totally pay off when we move back to the countryside in a few years time.

When we sold up & moved from the leafy suburb of Maida Vale in London 4 years ago - there was a single lock up garage at the bottom of our street that sold for £200k - with the funds raised from our 1 bedroom flat we moved 50 miles west and purchased a stunning detached 3 bedroom period chapel conversion - two & half bay workshop with loft storage, parking for 6 cars, gardens etc had money left over to pay all selling / legal / moving costs & a decent holiday Of course the first thing that I wanted to look at when we first viewed the property was the workshop / garage

Similar price around here will get you a 3 bedroom semi detached house with a 2 car garage, 5 car driveway, and 100ft rear garden.

you would pay that for a small flat around here but there will be a many months/years long waiting list so you can pay loads for a permit to park on the road. Even then, you probably won't get a space nearby and it will get bashed by rubbish parking of others.
a driveway is literally THE dream

I'm touring around for the Summer trying to work out where I want to spend the next couple of years - prices mean Walthamstow is now *off* my list For comparison, I looked at doing some work at a watermill in North Wales last year - owners had paid not a lot more than price of your flat and got the restored 4 bed watermill, seperate guest house, and several hundred yards of lovely valley with prime river frontage forum.retro-rides.org/thread/197691/womble-improvising-french-polish-housemove?page=3 A place I was working at last year in North Wales is now up for sale for about the price of your flat. Sale includes a large farmhouse, 2 big barns + grain store, near the coast, with 27 acres of land. London / SE prices are crazy

As nice as all these other places are, they're not in London and I'm not sure badrep wants a "look what your money could buy elsewhere" thread! London prices are high, and weird, but tbh £350k doesn't buy you much there, let alone outside space or even more so somewhere with a properly sized garage. It looks great and worth the money if you need/want to live in London
