For sale, a relatively tidy W reg Ford Cougar 2.5 V6 Petrol Manual in Tourmallard Green
I bought this car to save it, it had been sat on the owners drive for quite a while, and he eventually got bored of it always being in the way, so we agreed
a price, and I took it away.
The reason for saving it should be obvious, there are now less than 1700 Ford Cougars left in the UK, and unfortunately because its based on the Mondeo MK2, its a VERY popular choice for banger racers, nearly 400 Cougars disappeared off UK roads alone last year!!
Its a 109,000 mile car which is nothing for these engines, and quite low miles for the year, and yes, it has a YEARS MOT.
The Spec: Power Steering, Alloy Wheels, ABS, Traction Control, Full Black Leather Interior, Electrically Adjustable Drivers Seat, Heated Front Seats, Fuel Computer, Metallic Paint, Reverse Parking Sensors, Heated Front Screen, Remote Central Locking, Electric Sunroof, Electric Mirrors, Electric Front Windows, Sony CD Player, Leather Steering Wheel, Twin Airbags, Immobiliser, Electric Boot Release, Aircon, Automatic Climate Control.
For the MOT it needed welding on the rear sills (common problem), two tyres, two rear droplinks, new handbrake cable, and a couple of spots of welding underneath on the front end.
I've also bought a fresh pair of wiper blades for the front as the old set whilst got it through an MOT, were not the best.
I've hardly driven it, but I did manage to hit a nasty pothole which has resulted in partial failure of the O/S rear shocker. Its not going to imminently drop and
lose its oil, but you can hear it over bumps.
I won't be replacing the shocker, that's for the new owner, i've done my part by ensuring the poor thing didn't get scrapped or trashed on a banger racing circuit, i'm just very curse word off that it happened at all.
Needs a clean, its not minging, but leather and plastics need a wipe over, exterior needs a good wash (my local decent carwash is closed whilst the forecourt is refurbished!!!).
Electric boot release is noisy, but still works.
Gear knob is a little worn (it has a leather cover on it).
Theres some paperwork, 1 key, logbook.
I've priced the car keenly, its not mint condition, but its certainly not a dog either, i've weighed up a price I feel is sensible given the scarcity of these things, but its not over priced (some are nearly £2000 on ebay) where the new owner can't afford to give it some TLC.
Part Ex: If you have a low value/SCRAP part exchange you want to trade in, you're more than welcome to. I'm not interested in anything that is valuable, nor am I interested in swapping.
It might be cheaper and more convenient for you to drive down a scrapper instead of catching a train, part exing the scrapper for a nominal discount on the Cougar, and driving the Cougar away.
I don't care what is wrong with whatever you drive down, if its only fit for scrapping, then its not going to bother me, so long as you're not expecting £150+ discount on the Cougar, then we'll both be happy.
