I never thought id say this but I recon £5 is a pretty fair price for that. Its a 3dr VP, ive got a feeling they were usualy 5dr, its black, not many metros in black, its got leather, stupid low mileage. And the way values are going with other cars of that age, yeah.
I'm all over that.

All mk1 metros were 3 door - 5's didn't happen till the refresh. This is a super example. Love those pepperpot 14"s, chrome grill and window piping Amazing they didn't fit a bigger grille a la Allegro / Riley Elf etc.

OJ reg suffix, Longbridge.
Same as one of the Minis used in the “Minis have feelings too” Christmas ad years back.
Just copped the reg, it has to be a factory demo or managing directors car. It’s a VP500 and the reg is 500 with a Longbridge plate identifier

Possibly a press car or motor show?

I hadnt clocked the number plate, i bet that cars got an interesting history. I think those wheels are 12" not 14". Id rather have that VP to an identical MG. I wonder which would be worth more?

Astounded as I am at the condition of this car the photos underline the fact that it was a sad and half-hearted effort to carry the Vanden Plas name. It seems to have a bit of a list to starboard, Hydragas leak? With only 712 miles and only 1 MOT in recent history it looks to probably have spent most of its life as a display piece. I don't know where the £5K has come from? I bet KGF1 would like to get his mitts on this!
