Hi folks can anyone help me with this?
Right to cut a long story short I sold a generic Chinese scooter to my mate, one of the 50cc twist and go type things. It hadn't been started since last summer so I fitted a new spark plug and lead/coil, and also a new air filter. I had already charged the battery and refitted it so should be good to go. When I turned the ignition key I'm getting no ignition light, in fact no power to anything, horn, fuel gauge, indicators, starter all have no power to them.
I convinced myself the battery must be dead so bought a new one, but it made no difference.
Ok so what have I tried so far... I can only find one earthing point for the loom, and it goes to the engine, so I took it off cleaned it up and ... nothing. Next I removed the ignition barrel to check the connections, they were all clean and I tested for continuity on the wires from the barrel to the multi plug, all fine. Next I tested continuity of the wires that run from the battery to the multi plug on the ignition barrel, the positive side had zero resistance but the earth side does seem to have some resistance.
Any ideas guys? I'm kind of under pressure to get it fixed lol!
