So this morning I wrote off our dull daily mondeo... My own fault, sitting on the highway the van in front comes to a sudden stop and I don't. Well I do, but only once we have hit the back of the van... Manage to get over to the hard shoulder (we were in the 'fast' lane), and start sorting out the paperwork, luckily nobody injured and the van isn't too badly damaged. Police arrive, breath test everyone, checks paper work etc, all is good. Fire service clear the water / hydraulic fluid and parts off the road and get it reopened. Then the awkward WTF moment. I hadn't paid attention to the sign writing on the side of the otherwise plain black Merc Vito van. The driver opens up the back to check everything is ok, to show us the coffin in the back! Turns out he is an undertaker / private ambulance for transporting bodies! Thank fully he tells us the coffin is empty, but the nervous laughter from my OH and the look on the policewoman's face was something I tell you. Anyone else had an odd surprise or something happen after an accident?

I know someone who was witness to a crash and had to wait to give a police statement. Unfortunately he had just been sent home from work because he had the runs and ended up pooing himself while waiting for the police to turn up.

My ex had a very minor bump at a junction, a big 4x4 just tapped the back of her Hyundai Coupe when she stopped. She's jumped out giving it full bore WTF, and using language that would make a navvy blush when the 4x4 driver climbed out and very apologetically adjusted his dog collar...

These are funny?? stories! This is mine;
Years ago I worked at a respite center for people with physical disabilities. I was doing all sorts of jobs. One day my manager asked me to pick up some paint on the other side of town. I could take one of the (wheel chair) van's. Abraham, a severe spastic man asked if he could come. I really like "Bram". He was a real gentle soul, funny and good to hang out with. Stress, excitement, laughing, new activities etc would almost double his involuntary movements. Anyway we got the paint and on the way back are 3 ducks sitting on the shoulder of the highway. Only thing I thought, please stay where you are, do not take of.... Of course they all 3 did at the same time. I collected all 3 on the front screen in one go... The amount of splashed duck on the laminated wind screen was disgusting. It was hanging of the wipers and areal. Blood every where. Dear Bram came almost out of his chair. He rocked that wheel chair so hard I had to slow down. I rocked up at the center and told what happened. I had about 35 people in wheel chairs, walkers, etc around the van. They all took it out on me and Bram we had to hear for months that I damaged the newest van and that Bram and I were so cruel to animals.

I once had to go into the local police station to present my documents after having being in a minor accident and not had papers on me.
As I left the police station after, which are barricaded fortresses in N.Ireland, or at least were 10 years ago, I managed to reverse straight into the solid metal outer gates and have another accident.

No funny really but i came across a old school hood friend when in my twenties in his mums Citroen BX in a ditch - luckily he was ok . I asked if he had been run off the road by Mk3 Escort XR3i in red ? The driver turning onto the wrong side of the road and aiming at him ?
Yes he said why ?
Because the same thing had happened to me a mile up the road a week previous resulting in my car mounting the pavement and hitting a wall and the driver turned around and chased me before having a pop at me after trying to drag me from my car .
Turns out he was just out of prison for GBH and attempted murder and was basically a psycopath with a death wish ! Lucky escape .

Many years ago I attended a Mk1 Escort on its roof, the driver had swerved to avoid a rabbit, immediately clipped a rock in the verge, which rolled his car back into the road. I could see a messy trail in the tarmac, and sure enough he'd squashed a rabbit with his roof. That took some dedication and skill....!

Many many years ago me and a friend managed to pull 2 young ladies in a night club, happy days, its decided my friend is going home to his new ladies house so I have to drop them off then the other young lady is coming home with me to my house result...soooo we get to the first young ladies house or so we think, the 2 females then both get out and start kissing each other goodbye in a very full on manor me and my friend are so happy at this point what could possible go wrong...well the first young ladies mother appears from no where and goes bat sh*t mental grabs both females and all 3 disappear quicker than me and my mate can comprehend and before we know it we are standing in silence in the dark gutted with a total look of disbelief on both our faces...so being an immature youth that felt like some massive injustice had just been done ( this was probably 20+ years ago)I got in my car did the biggest smokey wheels spin down the road with the horn pressed all the way at 2am ...I was such a hero...then promptly clipped the curb and the car leapt in the air and cut out dead as a dodo efin fantastic totally dead nothing on the ignition no dash lights nothing much swearing and staring at each other followed.. what else could go wrong how could it get any worse ...pop the bonnet to get out and have a look in the pitch black see if we can see anything obvious amiss and I have a brain wave when I brought the car there was a kill switch under the dash that is like a hair trigger and very easy to push, bet that has flipped quick fumble under the dash and we are back in business much cheering later we back round the block for another horn bleeping drive by because obviously its all there fault not ours whoop whoop look at us go .. straight into the same curb again only this time not only did the car cut out but the bonnet that wasn't closed after pulling the release last time flies up and smashes the windscreen.
Nothing more than I deserve for such childish behaviour.

When I was a novice HGV driver and making a late night delivery into SW London, I took a wrong turn into a dead end road. Not being overly confident about reversing this Artic out, I decided to turn it around, all went well, till on the final shunt, when I just barely touched a 2 story high wall with the trailer underrun bar. Which promptly collapsed, all along it's length, (about a football fields length) into a pile of rubble and dust. And it was listed, 'cos it was from the 18th century, as was the night watchman's hut it crushed....boss not pleased! Not actual truck, but was a old and very solid Calor trailer, much like this one.
