just thought i'd share the latest retro tooling to grace the workshop, i give you the Black & Decker Sharp N Sand. took some time to assemble the bits (ok the drill, and sharp n sand) bought the sharp n sand for the princly sum of £10 locally (is never been used so brand new) was given an equally un-used drill. both sat in varous places in the workshop ready for introduction to a bit of scaffold board. I love its very useful, just hope i can get the right sized belts for it or ill have to get creative....

i like that, the simplicity and well made-ness. I've got an old britool catalouge somewhere.
Oh also i have to add, Using a 80 grit linishing pad in the angle grinder ontimber does get very nice results VERY quickly. however it covers the wole workshop, you, next door, the car out side and possibly down the road in very fine slightly singed wood dust.

Now we would love to see that, never seen one, luckily we know a collector in New Zealand who has one from the 60s and stand the box page for us. Let me know if you would like to part with yours Heres how the box should look

I love my old Britool 3/8 socket set. Lovely kit to use. The ratchet's still as smooth as silk, especially after a clean and re-grease last year. Or was it the year before? Doesn't time fly? I left tons of quality old tools collected over the years when I left the UK (should have brought all the Imperial spanners - hindsight - but got lucky on a second hand deal ) but gave them to a guy I knew would use them.

The strange thing for me is I was once a Britool dealer! Son now collects it, the old stuff is certainly well made but people often like the shiny stuff better. Once worked at a place and an old guy had a box of wibblepoo but earned his money just the same as we did.
