 All going well.I'm getting the hang of this now Have to admit it's a bit of a copy from a car I saw possibly on this site,but with my own twist Engine has a few mods and of course plenty done on the outside |

Just taken my rover for a blast.Power is much improved,but my front wheels rub,lock to lock on the rally arches.Easily sorted and it's handling really well
It's lowered 2" with 30mm spacers.The wheels are jeep Cherokee 17" with 245,17s
Vitesse spoilers fitted and a cherry bomb exhaust to the rear
Need to sort the speedo,temp gauge and oil gauge.I have an instrument pod to go in as Ive changed the senders already but I think the speed transducer is up the spout and hard to find
Ive been around these rovers on and of through my life with a black twin plenum sd1 being the best I've ever hard.
Can't ever afford a good one of those again
I'm possibly going to sell it soon as I'm moving house and it can't really come with me but I haven't made my mind up.I might try and find some storage

Did that Sd1 used to belong to Ian Pierce? Looking good  Is this the inspiration? forum.retro-rides.org/thread/92553/1984-rover-sd1-2600s?page=6What mods have you done to the engine? I have 2 6 cylinder SD1's so any mods are interesting and rare on this engine. Is it auto or manual? Looks to have the later electronic ignition and I'm guessing the stepper motor type of auto choke rather than the FASD/Manual choke. What air filters are you running? Pancakes? |

It's an Ian Pearce replica.I loved to so much I thought I would make one with a few tweaks of my own
Yes the su carbs have pancake filters on but with a difference.I was thinking of doing a direct cold ram system but when I was looking around to do a mok up I saw a filter dust mask laying around and thought mmm,I wonder ,I screwed the back plate on and clipped the filter in and got another.They work great.
As for engine mods,it's surprising how much the inlet and outlet ports don't match so I machined them out buy hand so all ports are bigger.Its not great of the line but once the revs build there's a good improvement running through a 4 speed manual box

Ive never owned a sd1 that's so solid.No sign of any welding just a few dents from jacking on the chassis
Can't ever risk putting a turbo on the car,don't think it would take the strain,can't even find a tubular manifold for it.
The car is doing 0-60 in 5.5 secs,that's fast enough for me...believe that and you will believe anything

really nice looking car, and also look how much room there is for some tasty tubular headers  ps you are definitely in the right place to post your project. but you are definitely in the wrong place if you think we don't want you to go into detail  |

Id love some tubular headers but they arent available unless someone knows better.
don't really know what else i want to do to the car really
As long as it drives well and looks good i guess I'm easy to please
