Hard to believe it, but this is actually happening.

The first closed road rally in mainland Britain is happening on the back lanes around my workshop. I drive these roads regularly, and wonder why various back lanes had been fully resurfaced over the past couple of years, when they're the sorts of roads that typically recieve no attention, yet the main roads are as bad as I've ever seen them. I guess this has been on the cards for a while longer than anyone has been letting on. There's definately a LOT of local knowledge going into the route planning too.
The roads being used are tight but fast and flowy, with relatively few inclines, so expect action typical of the Irish Tarmac rallies. Not to mention a few pretty good offs I'd expect.
I think the most exciting cars will be the smaller RWD stuff and hot hatches rather than the more powerful 4wd stuff. It sounds like it's going to be a pretty action packed scedule, I hope it goes well and they come back for more.
