Hi All,
I know the date my car was first registered because its on the V5 and ive seen it on the DVLA website but what i want to know is the date it was made, does anyone know how i can get this information, its so i can keep my write up correct

Who made it? What is it? Best best is a specific owners club of the car you have it's a bit old, like. If you want you can PM me the reg and I can see if I can pull a manufacturer date but I can't promise anything.

If it's built by BL (not hopeful since your avatar is a Bedford badge) you can get a heritage certificate containing this info and more from Gaydon. Older Ford chassis nunbers (63 ish to 79) contain a year and month of build code which is at least more reliable than a DOFR on a V5. Most American cars since the early 60s also have this feature in their VINs, plus English and European car VINs since they became compulsory in the late 70s.
