Edited my original answer. After reading info on W116 and W126 it looks like the springs are the same, The difference between the two is lower arm's and thicker spring bushes, I hope the info I have read is correct but happy to be proved wrong, The spring compressor you need will be the W116 one 116589063113

Why were the springs so troublesome/dangerous to remove? They are mounted inboard, and are shorter but much stiffer. I've heard of regular spring compressors flying off or bending...!

I've seen one on a v8 r129 snap the end off the normal type compressors, it came back out of the wheel arch like a shot from a gun!
