Had what appears to be a fuel starvation issue with my Discovery (300tdi, auto, J import) the other week & had to be recovered. Car struggles to start & dies shortly after, appears to have a lack of fuel getting to the fuel filter, as when filled up (from a canister) it depletes after starting.
I cleaned the sedimentor, replaced the lift pump and greased the unions on the fuel sender but I still have the problem.
Is there any easy easy way to check fuel lines and unions for leaks? And can I just replace fuel line with suitable rubber hose and jubilee clips?
I don't know if it helps narrow it down, but when removing the fuel filter you can hear it suck in air when the o ring seal is broken.
