^^ good find I was disappointed with this show too. Never seems to be enough repair content in any mainstream car resto programmes. Bit of a laugh that they haven really sold them.

i liked Ant in "for the love of cars" so it didnt rock the boat that much for me (like i'm not going to bail on the show like some people did with top gear)
after watching a few episodes i feel like Ant is a good "presenter", hes enthusiastic and clear, says all the right things at the right time. I'm on the fence whether i like it or not. Its like he's doing an impression of himself for the cameras and it comes across a bit fake, maybe ? feels a bit cbeebies presenter "now i'm going to put these sump bolts in a magnetic tool tray"
Ed at times looked a bit clumsy on tele but came across more genuine and real for it.
Still like it as a show, only seen escos, celica supra and the Mach1 mustang so far.

I for one think Ant has helped inject a bit of freshness into the show but we need to remember that its only entertainment! We have never had it so good for car related content on telly but the problem is,they are mostly different angles on the same old theme, buy & sell. Its all too cheesy though including Fuzz's Car SOS.

I’m just catching up, only watched the cosworth episode and some of the celica so far but impressed with it.
The 3rd wing was a nice move - mainly because the original designer was involved, if he hadn’t I think it would have spoiled it but when you see it complete it does look good. It reminds me of a modern version of the rear window blinds from the 70s (can’t remember their name now) in a good way. I dare say someone above had mentioned the similarities though.
It will take a few episodes to get used to Ant but it’s not so bad in that Ed left voluntarily rather than was just pushed out to be replaced with Ant.
Although his voice reminds me of a presenter from City Gardens a few years ago so might take longer to get used to him not taking about plants!

car sos has gone to the dogs too , to much talking curse word, not enough on restoration , except if your loaded Car SOS, they did up an old Datsun 240z or something, for a retired GP, lived in a massive house, surely he could have paid for it himself, not saying he didn't deserve getting his car done though. They should go back to doing up cars for the average bloke,

I think a lot of it in Car SOS is rebuilding a car which has a special meaning to the owner and the emotion both owner and family associate with it.
It gives it some meaning, which makes for good TV. I do find it something that pulls you in, but I suppose it helps I'm a car guy who understands what a car can mean to you.

I had the misfortune of watching 'Yianni supercar customizer ' last night on Dave. For some stupid reason I thought "oh, another new car programme, I think I'll give it a go" - bad idea, and for some completely unfathomable reason I actually watched the whole episode. I really must share the pain ......l dave.uktv.co.uk/shows/yianni-supercar-customiser/

Just watched the Saab episode. Made a new windscreen by cutting down a screen from a modern car. Was very clever how the guy did it.
Now if that was done over here would it be legal/pass an mot because it would be a good way of replacing harder to find glass in older cars.

They should go back to doing up cars for the average bloke, I don't know if you saw last nights episode with the sunbeam, I nearly cried, even the most cold hearted person couldnt think that bloke didnt thoroughly deserve any pleasure having his car rescued brought. Proper heart wrenching story. There are one or two where I thought the kindness was misguided. Someone who bought something but had no chance of ever doing anything with it due to no skills or motivation, then had some bad luck but have now overcome it and got life back on track isnt the best recipient in my opinion. Some of them are thoroughly deserving though, like last nights, and whether they have a few quid or not isnt usually relevant to whether they are deserving.

Shen & Buried is still the best thing on TV even if it does get repeated every six hours! 😆

The house ground and the job abroad was enough to show this. Can't remember the story behind the fiat but there was no way they were going to rebuild that. I think sometimes they mite just pick the more interesting cars for the program over the genuine story. The Sunbeam episode was imo the most worthwhile to date.

I really must share the pain ......l dave.uktv.co.uk/shows/yianni-supercar-customiser/I've had the misfortune of watching all 20!, seemed like a reasonable thing to do as i'm 'sort' of in the same trade. usual edited TV stuff...4 day job, 3 days to do it, skin of teeth to finish etc with too much time available watching Fast & Loud, Fired Up, Iron Resurrection , Diesel Bros, Kindig Customs et al whilst broken wrist heals (only another 2 months), my take on TV car shows is to take 'em as entertainment, how many on here have the time/money/inclination to do what we watch? not many i reckon. probably be easier if we were in 'merka, anything goes it seems, i'm assuming UK /Euro standards of road worthiness are slightly lacking? have a pic of something Ant/Mike wouldn't touch
