Had to buy this, the previous owner Ritch had a wicked sense of styling in his choice of rims (IMHO) and after a viewing he (Percy) is all mine... It's not very often I buy a car where I am instantly happy with the styling - but in this case I think I am? Plan's for the new year, # Full service and cam belt - specialists only charge £175 to supply and fit a cam belt!! far cheaper than I expected and really not worth tackling myself for that price? £125 for a major service... # Increase the ride height slightly, only needs about 10mm to stop the rear tyres scrubbing - again only £30 for a pump up... # Powdercoat the TR6 steels - currently silver but not sure if I should consider anything else? Your thought's?

They look ace. I would say anthracite or maybe bronze for the colour.

I'd go for a gunmetal. Something a little lighter than Anthracite.

I had to look in out of intrigue.
That look suits it so well, nicest modified mgf i think of seen. Just subtle and classy.
Personally I'd leave it as it is - just get wheels re-done in silver if they do need doing and is a different rear tyre size an option instead of raising suspension?

Read the title... opens thread, pleasantly surprised. That looks infinitely better than I could have imagined, personally I think they work best in a bright silver.

I like that.
I went for anthracite against dark green on mine (not MG) and like it.
But hey, I like living in a shambles as well, so please feel free to ignore me!

I like the wheels, was going to get a set for my Triumph 2000 but went for minilights in the end, I realise my mistake now it was a long time ago ! Would a set of TR6 centre caps finish them of nicely, probably some suitable MG badges around to fit.

Its currently running 165/60/15's on the rear - will have to see what options are available tyre size, believe the rims are 5 1/2" but they are not stamped up so cant be sure until I take one off (ebay shows some at 6")

Pretty sure TR6 wheels are 5.5J - are they on PCD adaptors? I'm guessing so as they're 4x114.3 PCD and I thought the MGF was 95.25?

There were some wider ones available made by one of the TR specialists that were 6" wide so the could be but even the narrower ones stick out a lot. Could almost do with having them widened on the inside !

Modern Classics put one of these against the MX-5 NA. NAs are now slowly becoming expensive for good cars while the MGF is still within the peanuts price range ; they walked away saying it actually drove quite nicely. I know hoopsontoast enjoyed his brother's example.

I'm going to try a set of MG Montego cross spokes on the Golden Shot after christmas. The clay buck had them on and looked quite good...

Or roll the rear arches and lower the front end....?
I'm loving the style of this too. Lots.

Saw this on Ebay and was impressed with the look. What are the Mike Satur adaptors like, any vibration or balance problems? I've been considering a set to put 16" steels on my MGF

That's a nice little MGF that.
Very underrated cars and I agree, the wheels are an inspired choice as is the hard top.
Any plans for performance?

I've been considering a set to put 16" steels on my MGF They seem pretty good to be fair, it's got some very slight feedback at 70mph, but a simple tracking/wheel balance could be the cure.
