I wondered if anyone had any thoughts on what cars may be examples of a model that while not terrible is almost entirely forgotten about. Terrible often means being remembered, it's unlikely that the Allegro will ever be forgotten, but the wedge Princess is pretty well erased from most peoples memory. Not to say that these cars are bad, just for some reason we have collectively decided to remove them from conscious thought. Any thoughts

I'm not sure ANY car is truly forgotten on here. However some models will always provoke a sudden jolt of "oh yes they did make them once"

Matra Rancho? Not completely 'forgotten', but I would doubt many people would know what you were on about if you mentioned the name.

The Solara far more mainstream.. not as practical as the Alpine and its hatch. The Horizon, FWD and 5 doors was giving an uncomfortable wink the Sunbeam...and still more well known than its bigger 2.2l brother the Tagora,

Early FX4 taxi and yes early ones from 67 to 79 I grew up with these , my dad was a London cabbie for 30 years the driving position was awful although I suppose they weren’t terrible I’d love an early 70s one , just don’t see them anymore

Wolseley 18/22 I know that essentially it's an Austin Princess, but everyone forgets they came with the wolsely badge too, as well as the Morris badge I believe.

Mitsubishi Colt. People only seem to be able to recall the most recent model, which is odd. Reliant Rebel. Usually if you ask someone to name a Reliant they'll manage Robin, maybe Scimitar, never Rebel. Nissan Sunny. For an ordinary car that's been in production in one form or another as long as this under the same name, it's surprising how forgettable they seem to be.

Chrysler 180??? Ain’t seen one for years Also called a Chrysler Centura. I have seen them alive over here in an metallic olive colour, but because they were a smaller car with a big engine bay, lots of people loved chucking v8's in them. I think I've seen 2 in the last month or so, but not many compared to other cars of the same time.

True, but if you asked 'the man in the street' then the results would be somewhat different.

The Dutch on this very forum might remember what car I am talking about. I really can't remember but about 25 years ago there was a brand new brand of car brought out in Holland. It was not successful and as far as I can remember all were bought back by the importer. I have no idea what brand it was or origin.
Do you know?
