The owner has to squeeze past this every time hey leave the house. Given the massively public place they must have had endless hours fees to rehouse it. At the very least they could get some money weighing it in. Why sit looking at it every day.

It could be the "It was my late Dad's car & its got huge sentimental value" !! Then make him proud of it again - instead of it dissolving into the ground..... Yes, i know, easy to say - but its sad to see it like that too.

I've heard more than one story about old cars left crumbling on driveways because the owner passed away, and their wife/mother/whoever likes to have it sitting there because, just for a microsecond of every day, they can see it and think 'Oh, [person] is home from work' or what-have-you. Not saying that's necessarily the case here, of course, but it does happen.

That's the whole Rat Look lifestyle package there - reminds me of some rough old places I used to deliver milk to when I was a milk boy at fifteen. Wouldn't want to knock on that door.

They'll never get rid of that, they're going to do it up or something, but its a capri so its worth millions and always will be, no matter how much of it has dissolved. Makes a good picture as it is though, if the leading edge of the bonnet is like that I'd hate to think what the rest of it is like. Ive never understood the whole 'I'm keeping it because it was my dads/mums/granparents thing, if its suitable for you to keep it, keep it if you want to, but even though the maxis my dad had meant the world to me, when he passed away the cars just wernt suitable for me to use everyday, so i sold them, no problem, and still don't regret it. Its better they are gone and being enjoyed by someone else that festering away in my garage. Besides that, if id kept them they would always be his, they would never be mine. Its like my uncle has his own car (totaly unsuatable 2.5L unreliable tried piece of tat) and kept my nans car which is equaly unreliable, unsuitable, but not quite so tat-like, just because it was my nans, and would never sell either of them and get something newer/reliable/cheaper to run. Sad to think some people wont do the right thing just because they are too stubborn. Probably stubborness comes into it somewhere with that capri.

Not far from me there's a very strange bloke who owns a number of old Fords, you wouldn't know they were there unless you went in the yard. He's got his Dad's 105E anglia, and when I asked him about it, his reply was 'I'd rather see if rot into the ground than do anything with it.' Not sure from that whether he actually liked his dad or not, but there's no point in asking him about anything he's got, all you get is a long monologue about how various people have ripped him off over the years.

Some people just seem to have the attitude of "I've got it and you haven't so I'm better than you".

Hi, That's part of the problem, he thinks he's been ripped off. To do something like that takes time, money and effort and they haven't got the drive to either or they would have done something already. He's frightened that someone else has and he will feel cheated again, so there it sits. Colin

erm . . . (preparing to get lynched) It's theirs...they can do whatever the curse word they like with it, and if watching it rot into the ground is their bag then so be it. You all seem to have the that you haven't got it . . . well save up and buy one, this one isn't for sale. I'm a bit more concerened about those that are slating the condition of the house... some people are poor ok? some people are also old, too old to be doing these jobs ok? And you have no idea what the circumstances are, maybe, like it's been mentioned, it is a widow/widower who lives there and it's the last thing they have of their spouse' ... Maybe it's just some old guy/gal who lives alone, who's family doesn't visit cos they don't give a curse word, or maybe they're all dead and this one person cannot do any of this curse word so is just sitting there alone waiting to die. Maybe they are already dead and no one has been to find out if anyone is ok because they didn't have anyone to care in the first place... The point is, you don't know... You're all coming over as a bunch of self righteous elitist snobs to be honest... As a matter of fact THE WHOLE WORLD IS...it can go curse word itself... i'm sick of this curse word.
