There are better images of some of the cars I photographed on other threads...thanks guys. I spent much of the weekend talking myself hoarse about SIMCA & MATRA. We always try to get stands for the two clubs next to each other. Most models share the same bits anyway, The MATRA stand had two Bagheeras... the blue'74 Series 1 from the start of production and my brother Kev's silver grey series 2 which is from the last batch of Bagheeras made before the Murena replaced it in 1980. Third car was an example of MATRA's final model before their car production stopped in 2003... the Renault Avantime.
The SIMCA stand had two rare models of the 1100, an estate car and the twin carb 1204 Special. This short lived model ('70 to '71) was the only twin carb 1100 we got in the UK. it ran the 1204 engine from the 1200S coupe but transverse and on twin DCNF webers. The same carb arrangement as the Bagheera. The later 1100Ti used the same on a 1294 engine but the UK never got that one. Third car was a rare example of one of SIMCA/Chrysler/Talbot's less successful efforts, the Chrysler 2 Litre.
