That is actually quite funny.
I found that when my truck was on the road that it often made me smile, parked next to "big cars" and you saw the difference.
That Dodge is rather big though.

Yeah but it's how you use it that counts...
I towed a bit of yank steel. Can't remember what it was, Pontiac something or other estate iirc. It was MASSIVE, but while my humble Octavia estate was smaller outside, I had way more room inside. It was weird.
I could only come to the conclusion that some car manufacturers are stealing the space from inside the cars and using it elsewhere, perhaps to make their houses bigger (case point is the Nissan Juke/Joke... How's it physically possible to build a FWD car that big with so little space inside? Can't even get a large suitcase in the boot!). Space and time being essentially the same thing (a wobbly wobbly mess, not the nice linear progression we earthlings experience), I think it makes sense that the smaller the inside of the car,the less time you wanna spend in the thing. Though perhaps it is a case of the space inside a car only being defined when it is observed, a bit like Schrödinger's cat.
In any case, quantum aside, that's a cool photo.

My wife dislikes driving my Falcon because she says it is too big. It cuts no ice when I remind her that the first generation Falcon was released Stateside in '59 for the '60 model year as Ford's new small car alongside the full size Fairlane / Galaxie range.

Somebody posted a picture of a new Mini parked next to a Maxi, guess which was bigger.
The increase in size is mainly down to increased safety, e.g. impact bars in doors etc.
Funnily enough I've just got a Datsun Nissan Note as a courtesy car, seems quite big inside.

That's less a pop at folk for their personal choices and more an observation of what I see day by day (I work in air quality and traffic management in part). Status cars, big 4x4s, used for commuting, school runs, whatever. The same folk from generally affluent areas who demand good air quality and complain incessantly about congestion and lack of parking, congestion charges, tolls, and the move over to electric, who seem to want the rest of the world to change without making their own concessions. In the right setting big cars are cool. So are big trucks. Sadly those days are passing quickly in the wake of getting little Tarquin to his suburban nursery 1.2 miles away intact having got through (potential) snow storms, floods, mudslides and rough terrain... Or perhaps just morning rush hour traffic. Now... EV monster truck, anyone?    |

I spent a summer working in the US and took my wife and young (2 year old) daughter with me. As such I requested a 'family' car for the duration, this is what we got;  Oldsmobile something, swapped it for a Honda Accord. |

I thought of my yank motor as big. But parked next to anything it's pretty small. But then again it is a Cherokee XJ so the same size as most modern hatchbacks now, except mine has a lovely 4 litre L6 driving the rear wheels..
