I'd totally lost my enthusiasm for the Volvo, not sure why, just got completely bored of it, and a lad posted on a Volvo page on FB that he was after an old Volvo saloon. Bit of messaging back and forth and a swap was agreed, so last Saturday I went to Hull and swapped the 740 for this... Full MOT, 58k miles, everything working, and very, very tidy! Clearly been very well looked after, and it's an ex British Aerospace fleet car which is pretty cool! It's the 2.0 Honda engine, and it's actually very nippy, loves to rev like most 16 valve Japanese engines. Liking it much more than I thought I would.

Very quickly got bored of how old man it was, so went to Warrington to pick up some parts from a breaker... Got home at 10pm and fitted the wheels straight away as you do, in the pitch black and curse word down rain... Managed to score an early finish from work today and so fitted the Laguna splitter, fogs and clear repeaters. Much better! And a nice Alpine tape deck I had in the Volvo.. Still got the exhaust to fit, but here's how it stands now. Needs lowering badly! Will these cars ever be cool?!?!

They are just starting to come back out of the wood work again and become sought after. Two have recently appeared in my area makes a nice change to the usual euroboxes. Not too many left now which is a shame cos they are nice motor to drive. I reckon lower it and leave it but its your car at the end of the day Nice colour too.

Love these 600's. I remember borrowing my old boss's red 620 in 1996, and finding it solid and chunky feeling. Classy.
I like everything you've down so far except the Laguna splitter, but hey, it's your car. Do what's right for you. The wheels made such a difference.
Looking forward to following your progress.

The world would be a much better place without Laguna splitters. Constructive criticism aside, I love the old man spec of it. All it needs is a box of tissues and a flatcap on the parcel shelf. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

I actually love the splitter, it suits this. I usually go for the "sport model" bumper if that makes sense but there isn't one for the 600. Just gives it more presence!
It does desperately need lowering, but I'm having second thoughts because it's so comfortable. Its only really meant to be a daily so don't want to go mad on it anyway.
It's really surprised me, it drives so well.

I think the splitter finishes it off a treat. Even without lowering it looks nice especially with those rims (Vitesse ?).
The 600 kind of got over looked due to the 400 and 800 series Rovers, a shame imo.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not digging it on the 600, but I get the splitter. These Laguna ones have been a mainstay of modifying for many years. I had a non-vented one on my old black Primera GT... and a Seat Cupra one on my old Primera wagon... Splitter or not, keep doing what you're doing mate. Loving it.

I think these 600’s Are only drab because of the customer base that they collected over the years.
They can look really nice modified, but in my opinion, less is more with them! Definitely lower it and maybe change the wheels that should make a world of difference.
