When i had problems with a neighbours cat doing the same i got some thin ply and nailed lots of 1β tacks into it before putting it down just where the cat liked to jump over the wall. Bit of soil over it for camouflage and cue one cat dancing like it was on a hot tin roof. Job done. Whereβs the dislike button?

Spoke to the neighbors yesterday, they are now aware that whilst I like cats,I don't like other peoples cats crapping in my garden....

The cat survived the ordeal but learned my garden was off limits.

I had success discouraging visiting cats in my old flatβs garden by judicious use of a super-soaker water pistol out of the kitchen window. Iβve seen some highly amusing automatic contraptions on YouTube involving movement sensors and squirty hoses.

I am glad that I don't live next door you - Our highly intelligent cat 'Sid' does not stray off his own garden patch but would probably go and pee through your letterbox if he found such antics being deployed by the neighbours

To stop the local cats going into my parents garden and relieving themselves, every few months I drop off a bag of litter from my own cats. Remove the solids, then liberally sprinkle the used woodchip in the bottom of the flower beds and jobs a goodun!
Loving the seat and bugs JB. I built a tall stool from a Beetle flywheel, crank and rodsa couple of years ago, looked good and comfy too!

Apart from turning the cat into instant compost which might raise a few eyebrows due to the sudden loud noise said compost maker creates.... There is also the much quieter here kitty kitty solution,, which ends up with you putting it in a bin bag with its head on backwards and the owner thinking its ran away
Cats hate water and a super soaker can be great fun and I suppose a more morally acceptable solution
But they hate curry powder, we had one shitting on the patio during the summer so I spinkled some cheap madras powder and no more cat turds.. Perhaps this might be an idea to sprinkle outside the beds

Bob the Dog keeps our local cats away. They mainly have broken ribs from laughing too hard at his inept attempts at catching them. They don't come back too often because of the recurring pain. The local squirrel mafia also have the same problem.

The neighbors cat is sulking ππ. No more cat exhaust in my garden,so all in all, a Christmas present that keeps on giving. Not much, let that read zero progress on the Ape. Need to have a good tidy up in the garage first, which hopefully will happen this weekend. In other news, Bravo jnr and I have started our welding course on Wednesday nights. He is loving it,which is great. He's eager to get going,so I think the Ape will getting going this year. Good to spend time with my boy, and,it does give a bit more leeway with garage time with Mrs Bravo, if both of us are in there. Cunning plan coming together nicely ππ On the work front, busy as always. Made up a tool for the 251 halftrack oilseals. Works a charmπ Doesn't look like much until you cut one in section That's what. The Nikon profile projector was for. Production of the 228 seals I need ,now finished

Guess you'll have to start again, but at least having made them once it should be quicker this time. Pleased to hear promise of Ape progress, I'm sure I read a thread on here about it once? Can't wait to get my sons involved in the garage!

Absolute awe and admiration despite not having a clue, except for knowing this really is clever stuff and smart engineering.
Beautiful work JB.

The seals are nice, it looks just like a press tool or are they injection moulded in some way?

Oops double post for some reason! They are compression molded in a heated press. Photos taken before tool was finished π

Can't wait to get my sons involved in the garage! I felt the same until they grew up, moved out and took most of my tools with them. Cheeky barstewards bought me a socket set for Christmas that year and expected some fatherly pat on the back only to be told it was inferior to the stuff they'd already nicked, lost, lent to friends and never recovered or directly appropriated on the basis that what is dad's is family property not personal property. Now when they come to the Volcano Lair I follow them around and pat them down on leaving as they're too big for me to grab them by the ankles anymore and shake then until their pockets empty. For 2018 I'm still down a chainsaw, a felling axe, full set of vehicle dollies, a two tonne jack and a special tool that I can't remember what it's for! Love them
