I've seen quite a few tables made from engine blocks etc.
But IMHO the beauty is in the internal components, the block is the ugly bit
With that in mind I bought an old motorbike engine - Kwack GPX 750 I think
Stripped out the internal components, to see what it all looked like cleaned up.
Mocked it up with some MDF, and welded the camshaft/rockers/valves/springs together for a static display
Bent up some electrical conduit to make the final frame. The curve design of the legs was as a homage to a large floor standing candle stick I already had.
But working with tubes in 3D is pretty tricky, so I got the glass cut and drilled to fit the frame.
Here is the finished article
I was pretty chuffed with some of the finishes
The frame was sprayed with truck-bed liner from an aerosol - I wanted an industrial finish, and had a couple of cans left over from another job.
I'm lucky enough to have a small blast cabinet, and re-cycled glass provides a great finish.
Clear lacquer was used to prevent any rusting hopefully.
It is even allowed in the house by SWMBO
Thanks for looking.
