Another perspective of the Goodwood Revival

Last time I went to the Revival with Mrs and Ickle Seth in 2013 it was loveley weather through the morning and then torrential rain by about 2:30. This year we went again and we knew the weather was likely to be similar (and Ickle_Seth was with Grandma for the day) so we left home soon after 6 and were there not long after 8 to make the best of the morning in the hope the afternoon wouldn't be too bad. We followed this fantastic MG the last 15 miles or so.

Was amazed to see the Michelin building!



First highlight which Mrs_Seth was eager to see was the massive Fiat 500 parade.



These two characters got everywhere. They must have a whale of a time, basically being able to do what they like as part of their double act through the day!











About a third of the 'Motor Show' was TVR content.





Out for a walk around the paddocks

















Then through the Italian themed stuff.

We happened to get a spot to watch the J40 Settrington Cup race.





Then up to the first corner to see the bike race (we weren't too interested in...)



And the St Marys Trophy we most definitly were.

After that we went back to the car for a spot of lunch and a wander round the car park.



















The big TT race had already started but I really wanted to get up to the top side of the circuit to see what it was like to spectate & photograph from there so we walked up alongside the track as the big GT cars thundered past.

The rain started as that race ended and what while we'd hoped it would be a shower to start with it just kept on coming down so having made the walk up we had to make the long walk back again. But not before the Ecurie Ecosse vehicles had come past.





So that was that. We then stopped for a hot drink under a big tent, listening to the next race going in the heavy, horizontal drizzle/rain that was falling then headed to the car park with seemingly everyone else, which had no marshalls for a time and turned into a slippery, mostly stationary mud bath for a while. Still, it was a great day, always so much to see and do. I've finally managed to get myself into a frame of mind at this kind of thing of knowning that seeing it all is impossible so just chilling and enjoying what can be done in the time available.
