The lower part of the frame and the swing arm also seem to be from a C50, although heavily modified with the whole back section and the tank cut out to create the BMX look.
Overpriced doesn't even begin to cover it!

I think it's awesome - and the work that's gone into it looks great? Where would you price it if you'd spent x hours building it to that finish?

I'd love one! No thanks sure how far such a small fuel tank would get me though...

x2 I agree, there are a lot of poorly modded c90 chops out there, this one is on another level in execution and its an original idea which I haven't seen before. I wouldnt buy it as I don't need it but the work warrants the price.
keep in mind a c90 can't be bought for a tenner any more, you're lucky to get a usable one under £800

Its the fact its only about 10% C90 Cub. If a car had so little of the original chassis left, we'd be saying that's dodgy too!

Looking at the Chinese website I can see that he's used one of those £199 Chinese frames for this conversion. It's amusing that you can now bulk buy individuality!

He hasn't in this instance, you can see the swingarm to crank and to seat post mounts are different. Its most likely a Camphill Chop Shop converted frame

i think these are cool, id love to build one
i do think its a bit pricey though, whilst it clearly has time and attention spent on it, it wouldn't take as many hours or as much money as you think to build that, especially if the frame is bought in and you don.t make it yourself, its not much harder than assembling a non motorised bmx then.
As we all know too well, mods don't automatically add value. If that was a mint unmolested cub it'd be worth more.
i would also be wary that the only reason he is getting away with running it on a cub V5 is that the DVLA don't know about it lol, something that heavily modded should really be inspected/re registered like a kit car or whatever.

I wish VIP wouldn't put these tempting links up ha ha. If the original one is too expensive, what about this one at nearly £1000 less.] Must be good it even has a rosette!! That ones nicer and has a better frame, only a 50 but the Lifan engines are straight fit and cheap even when bought new for a 140cc or whatever.

They look great. I wonder how they kept the original registrations and not have a Q plate.
Perhaps just kept quiet about the changes to the bikes!

'Sealed Lips' seems to be the mentality behind it, since the changes to the frame are indeed significant - and probably something for the new owner to fix.

If the all the parts are new though and there are receipts then it seems to be possible to get a new registration and not a Q plate. The bike needs to have an MOT and insurance so a VIN of some sort, mudguards probably and an understanding insurer... But possible. Hmm, also needs an IVA. Perhaps more tricky than I thought.

I like them, but surely it would just be easier to just buy a Sachs madass? No hassle getting it registered then, and the same ethos!
