	My son has bought a VW Mk 2 Polo. Driving to visit me for a couple of days he had to stop a couple of time S because he was unable to change gear. After stoping he could put it in first and then set off again. Could this be clutch fluid or mechanical? We (me) are serviceing the car tomorrow. Thanks

	there is this bit underneath the car where the plastic ball wears and gives a sloppy gearchange: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-POLO-86-80-1-1-Gear-Change-Rod-81-to-89-Birth-VOLKSWAGEN-Quality-Replacement-/232343315578 and there is this bit on the bottom end of the shifter: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REP-SATZ-REPARATURSATZ-SCHALTHEBEL-SCHALTGESTANGE-VW-POLO-86c-80-/311040556802 also there can be a bit of play on the mechanism, usually where it is connected to the input shaft on the gearbox replacing the worn plastic bits improves it a lot!
