A guy local to me is selling an LDV Cub. Now it's not the most appealing can with it's 90s happy headlights and soft lines. But, I can't seem to find a lot of info on them. They seem to share a lot with the Nissan Vanette.. but why so few in the world?
Are they imports? And as such are they hard to get parts for?
Also, are they curse word? It's a 2.3 diesel manual.
If anyone has photos of one showing an ounce of cool I'd be interested.

The 2.3 diesel Nissan Serena/vanette/vanette cargo/LDV Cub was (and almost certainly still holds the record) the slowest 0-60 passenger vehicle in centuries (okay decades) - 28 secs IIRC Also "the worst car for sale in Britain" at some point!

Wikipedia says they're based on the larger vanette cargo - a Nissan Serena LWB "high line' van version.

Apparently also available with the SR20DE?
Which means the SR20DET may fit (200BHP in the S13)

My sister had the Serena version as a people carrier, was generally referred to as 'The Pig' because it was so godawful at everything! School report? Could do better!

Cracking little van 2.3 takes forever to get anywhere 2.0 woefully underpowered Back of the chassis loves to rust out Diesel loves the veg oil Sliding doors on both sides so easy to work out of Engine is between the front seats so easy to work on My last 1 would go everywhere at 65-70ish either empty or loaded up with a a 5 berth caravan on the back, and 5 Malamutes crated up in the van....

I had a 2.3 diesel cub..exactly same as vanette, i loved mine. Never thought it was that slow (or fast either) but went on and on, and was great at going sideways. Put a basic interior in back, worked all week and camped all weekend. Would have another.

Bought one for work many years ago. 2 side doors were useful but struggling to say much good other than that. Mine had cracked cylinder head which gave symptoms of head gasket failure. Common apparently. Was glad to get rid to be honest. Gutless, uninspiring.

We had the misfortune to use these as neighbourhood policing vans with a single cell in the back - these were so slow we didn't pursue anything in them. Badge engineered Nissan Serena/Vanettes, all non turbo 2.3 diesels, suppose the only thing they have going for them is they are RWD....
