I'm hoping Bodie&Doyle and others make this thread a special one by adding pics....... (Reason later) So RR attendees Me (BC in the Monza) Bodie&Doyle (BMW 2002) Rwdrules (Senator 24V) Bargainbucket (Senator 24V) 80mojo (Senator 24V) GaryFrogeye (err shouldn't be hard to guess what) Arrived on time - the convoy of Three Monza's blasting through Norfolk raised some eyebrows with the early risers walking their dogs or going to grab the Sunday papers Sad bit is no pictures from me as for some strange reason the batteries I charged seem to be duff and I have 6 x 10 sec video clips of the Monza waiting to move with various passengers strapping in  Anyway I had a blast with 170 track miles clocked up and one severely shot front off side tyre to show for it!!! Got a ride in the mighty Joe Ellis LC - That thing is just awesome and I was sweating in the car after just a couple of laps - powerslide on demand and in total control even overtaking other cars which it did rather a lot!!! 2 casualties from the day but not accidents just engine problems both cars going home care of the RAC/AA B&D's excellent thread form April is here with pics of some of the cars attending retrorides.proboards86.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1176840546&page=1

Well I can't add pics but I can confirm it was a fantastic day I rode up with BnD in the mighty, multihued '02 and he was even good enough to let me have a go. Cheers buddy! Also had the pleasure of a passenger ride with Robs brother (whose name escapes me, sorry!) in his 24v Senny. Very quick and sideways, I think he took nearly all the spare tyres he brought to the canvas, including the near new spare he found in the boot! So thank you and I apologize for any nail marks on the passenger side handles

Mechanic's rule #1... If the car works, anything left on the floor after you finished wasn't needed in the first place

what a great day again, 24v decided its diff could not limit the slip anymore so returned to being an open one, so few lurid powerslides were all carried out in the early sessions, after that it was all just trying to find some grip with one wheel spinning til the car was in a straight line again!! but forgot me camera!!! aaarrrgghhhhhh!!

Got no photos to add, but will have some in car footage at some point. Great day all round and I will definatey be there next time. Cheers BC I'm glad people had fun - sorry I couldn't promote the event properly on here as I had in the past and had to resort to sneaky PM's to those who had expressed an interest previously but I was limited to a maximum of 45 cars in the ABS group and I just filled the spaces where I could with a few people from here who had been before. I'll probably have my allocation cut down for the next one (should be April 2008) as I ended up with a few no shows for various reasons. The whole event is for charity and last one in April raised £15,000 for some very worthy causes Event is very relaxed and friendly and if you want to pop your trackday cherry I can't think of a better place to do it

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

All the forum co-ordinators were told if the event details were not to be cross posted on any other forum. They only accepted entries from the appointed forum co-ordinators - I got the few from here under guests of the ABS forum

Just for info - There is a run down of the ABS participation in the RAF Marham track day (April 2007) in this months copy of Total Vauxhall if anyone is interested.
I am going to try to see if I can get PPC to the next one..... No holding my breath tho

must learn how to add stuff at beginning and end ;D begining and much of it was done with video impression 2 then finished on windows movie maker. titles are easy in movie maker O/T but, BC is your roll cage based on the design of Joe Ellis's? they look remarkably similar in places. anyway, lets rescue this with a few pics. you know me, i don't just post a couple this made me chuckle. no light masks at all?!?! looks like snata claus ultima followed me in, drove very gentlemanly too. beast! very jealous of BC bagging the shotgun seat in this. never seen anyone drop stuff and run like that unless theres a fire over their petrol tank; except for BC when he got the offer of a ride in this mental lotus carlton never mind nurburgring stickers, this is for the hardcore on the lotus carlton above raspy little ax looked to have more potential than it gave. quicker than me tho just "OOOFF!!" in motion mayhem on track g40 outpaced loads of stuff twice its capacity coming out of the corners remember the woman driving the cobra vid? this is a woman (someone told me so, never saw the owner without lid so can't actually confirm) driving this cobra, rather bloody well too. you know theres much more to come........

parade of cool stuff through the complex by the pits sumbeam was searingly fast! see the end of my youtube vid for proof here he is having his tyres changed (ATS man donated his free time, skills and all money to the make a wish foundation, the charity the trackday is run for). check the brakes! better veiw. can you say serious stoppers?! well maybe not three times fast. the other e30 m3. very lovely and no slouch either wooh, trackday 205. are you watching closely, Adam? who overtook who? I'll leave you to guess, because I don't know ;D

Yay for Ed saving this thread......
- Joe's LC is a beast - if my car had been on fire at the same time as a shot gun ride in that was on offer I'd have said let it burn - I'll fix it when I get back!!!!
It's been on my list of rides to blag for as long as I have known the car and thats at least 8 years
It did NOT disappoint - not one tiny little bit
I think I'm OK round a track - Joe is awesome and unfortunately he had to have a shotgun ride in the Monza after - he liked the brakes ;D (but that was it)

firenza was an original seventies sihloutte racer with a slant four, then trackday warior in the nineties/2000's with a red top turbo, now trackday special with chevy small block. gilbern was cossie 24v motored with mapped efi 2 more. chap asked if i'd ever seen one before, i've seen plenty, but cheekily answered, "yes, I saw them on the april trackday" MGA mk2 1600 was poetry in motion to see on the track, a true sight of splendour sprog eye'd fright on wiiide steels. just needs a roof rack for that RR suggestion box special. "stick, banded steels and a roofrack" midget was a casualty of the day, diff was knocking in the second session, lasted untill the last hour before in detonated on the track
