I really didn't need another car so a coupla months ago I bought this:
This is how it looked when I drove it home. Thought about taking it to a test on the previous owner's registration, but after looking under the car I decided that would be a waste of time and money and I have to take the welding equipment out first. Here are some shots (most of them "after"):
and this is how it looked after passing the test:
I added a set of new tyres and fancy red lug nuts.
four cylinder engine with 90hp. Some new parts you can see, like distributor cap, ht leads, petrol filter, radiator cap. And I painted the fan shroud, which was very rusty.
A minor problem occured - a tiny coolant hose was leaking. As the old valve cover gasket was knackered, I had to remove oily dirt everywhere. I once jet-washed the engine, but you never reach all the edges and cavities.
Here in the center of the image you see the damaged hose.
A couple of weeks later. Look Ma, new timing belt:
