Ok, after a very long break from the forum I have decided I would have a go at returning. In my absence I found out what a crash feels like as a passenger.... Not great is the answer if you were wondering. That is what happens when a late Ford escort van travelling at 60mph gets punted up the rear by a relatively new 320d travelling at 142mph! Anyway, enough of that and on to the shananigans!! As a present for myself I saw a really clean C200 classic with super low owners, good service history and only 2 owners that I just had to have in my life. Monies changed accounts and I purchased this fine chariot on 01/12/16..... And standard she remained for the last 6 months, right up to the point that my life went to hell and I decided to have a small mid life crisis in my mid 30's! First up .... off with the steels and trims! A set of 15 inch AMG Style II mono blocks. These I liked, but what happened next meant they were not to be.... Fast forward a good few weeks from that picture and this happened.... Yes that's full tints, 5% limo black in the rear and I'm saying nothing about the fronts. Mostly I was fed up with bright headlights at night and I like the look! Then things got fun and we said bye bye to the sky and hello to the floor..... This is why the 15's had to go! This is proving harder than at first thought because iPhone so I will continue later.

That's a really clean looking example right there. I am totally hooked on Mercedes cars now, we currently have 2 in the household. My W202 and my dads W210. Now to try and finish last nights work..... Those 15's that were replaced were on 205/60/15 tyres and were catching on the front arch lips so I kind of 'procured' my dad refurbished W210 Algenib 16 inch wheels. These have been wrapped in 214/45/16 tyres, these also strangely gave a little more give in the suspension....... 2 pictures of our 2 cars together on the Ashover classic car show grounds.... This was the very end of the day so lots had already left by the time I took these. I also have a friend in the States, he was more than happy to send me these.... they are copies but I prefer how they look on the car. The plain white lenses I have always found boring and drab. Standard.... US market corner lamps..

Then I decided to detail the exterior.... I am currently shopping for a pair of 25mm 5x112 spacers to bring out the rear wheels as they sit a little too far inboard for my taste. body needs a fair bit of work around the edges, including a pair of front wings needed. The long term goal is to dump either the 4.3 or 5.0 V8 in as the M111 2.0 is a little weedy and sounds trashy if pushed. So there you have it.... my work in progress W202!

Nice progress so far. Bookmarked for further updates Sir!
I like the US front corners. I put some very similar ones on my recently sold Nissan Maxima.
I like your dad's W210 too. I've recently bought a '99 E55 AMG. Great car.
Oh, and glad to see you got out of that little bump!

Nice progress so far. Bookmarked for further updates Sir! I like your dad's W210 too. Thanks! My dads W210 is a 240 (2.4 petrol not 2.6) and he very recently had the paint sorted, it wears the age very well.

My tints were done by Quick Tint as found here... www.southyorkshiretint.yolasite.com/He has done a great job and came to the house for £180 all in. Obviously with older glass it's unlikely to be 100% perfect but this is a really nice job indeed and I am happy with it for what I was charged. I'm glad it's not just me that likes how it's going so far

Love those front indicators.....want!! Cost me around us$40 including getting them shipped here and the left (passenger side) one needed a bit of a file on the clip to get it to seat just right and not fall out. You can get them on eBay from a Latvian seller here.... www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142427949460 the fit isn't perfect so fettling is required on the latch clips

Oh yes. Has to be pre face lift and preferably with a 3 litre motor. Looked at a cheap one a few years back which had been owned by a doctor for about ten years full history less than 100k but the bodywork was awful. At the time I had had a flare up of my back problems and he was more interested in my ailments than selling me the car. In fact he actually stated I shouldn't be considering working on cars and wouldn't sell it to me for my own good!!!!

I would have told him to jog on. I have major spinal issues, suffer with degenerative disc disease and arthritis in my spine. I'm a little slower than I used to be but try not to let it ruin my life (only mid 30's)..... I do get some odd looks when parking in disabled spaces and they see me stick the badges in the window all good fun!

I feel your pain with regard to your back. I was bad at the beginning of the year but got a new physio and he got me going again for another while. The guy did me a favour as got a nice 190e on the way home from looking at the 300ce.

Another Merc fan with a dodgy neck/back. Crumbling discs at the top end of the spine, medication to stop pain and numbness down arms. Operation will follow at some point. Now, where were we? Ah, yes, peter96 is off to buy a Merc.....

Went and got some spacers today. 5x112, 66.6 centre bore, hubcentric with 10 extended bolts..... just a touch over £50 for the pair from Mtech. This is how they sit on the hub... The reason that they were so desperately needed was this....
