My daughters Ford KA has being showing signs of corrosion under the O/S kick plate for some time, on removing the plate and seal it is much worse than I realised. I did a google search for repair panels but nothing for this area of the car, can anyone recommend a good source for body panels and repair panels or do I need to go to Ford. I also have to do a Yaris rear outer sill section repair due to corrosion and MOT failure. Bodywork and rust repairs is not my skill, my background is the nuts and bolts side so I am dreading having to fabricate panels for these repairs. Any advice or recommendations very welcome, thanks Jim

That looks very localised, I would just cut out and repair locally the 3 areas of corrosion, my nieces ka had similar blisters on the outside of the sill but was perfectly solid once you got beyond the obvious rust.

I would take out the area shown. The sum total of welding is not anymore than the three individual spots would require and you will get a chance to paint the inside of the sill with POR or whatever your favourite rust killer might be. OR, just wire wheel the areas, bit of fiberglass and bog with some spray can paint and you are good to go for a bit longer. Answer all depends on what you want, need and can afford to do with talent, time and $$$$. Myself...I would strip it to a bare shell, put it up on a chassis rotisserie and restore every nut and bolt on the car. But I have a character flaw that way

Kevins I want to replace the whole area rather than 3 smaller repairs, I feel this will be stronger, although doubt there is much in it. Fad, in Surrey Fordperv I tried searching ebay for KA sills but didnt find those, that is just what I am looking for, thanks. bjornagn with the panel above, cut out pretty much the area you show and replace that alone is what I had pictured. The nut and bolt restoration will have to wait. Really appreciate your help, thanks all. Jim

Check the rest of the car thoroughly before buying anything. I was given a MK1 KA a few years ago, 'Only needs a repair to the sill' 2 new sills, inner sills repair, fuel flap area, boot floor, seat mounts, I could go on (and did) but only because by the time I realised I was too far in to stop!

The rest of the car is good, just one other spot on the underside of the floor at a box section joint/overlap, looks like it will need attention soon, well now really but will have to wait a few weeks, thanks for the advice.

KA's love to rust out just above the fuel filler.
