Had a nightmare flaring lines so rented a proper tool. Used, what I'm sure is the correct die, 45 double. Flared well and they looked decent. Installed the lines, filled with fluid and they all leaked. Removed one line and it had lost the flare after being bolted down? Why would this be?

possibly not using enough material for the flare, also may be a different flare required for the fittings you have

I can't see how it's possible to lose a double flare as the brake line is folded back on itself.
Have you got the right diameter pipe for the fittings?

Could be the fittings. Didn't even think about it, just ordered m10x1 from gsf

What car is it?
all the cars I've ever worked on have used a single DIN flare. It may be the gsf fittings don't match the other components or the flare type, it all works as a system, you can't mix and match.

standard m10 fittings I've used are the DIN flare from memory, flat rear not tapered.

Newbie to brake lines tbh. |

What do you mean, 'lost the flare'?
Sure you are not overtighting? More of an issue on female flares but will make them leak of you go mad on the torque.

Undid the line and the pipe has almost returned to how it was before, no flare just straight pipe. Almost like the bolt as pulled itself over the flare. Its going to a garage to get sorted now
