Well the rumblings and rumours are true, we've lost our minds and decided to add a second show to the calendar, sleep is over rated after all.
Headline details for you :
Retro Rides Weekender
Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th May 2018
Goodwood Circuit
Saturday : Track action, special themed paddock displays, trade stands, retro parking through the venue
Sunday : Club stands on track, club/group promenade/parade laps, special themed paddock displays, trade stands
Some of these details are being refined, the special paddock displays are lining up nicely at the moment and we'll reveal more details of those in time.
Saturday details: The track action is not a normal track day type arrangement, we will of course be doing things different to what is normally done at Goodwood, obviously people will be able to apply to take part. The retro parking in the venue is pre-book (due to the way Goodwood runs), but it isn't exclusive or anything, just retro pre-95-ish (usual caveats apply if you've got something interesting and later we may well let you in).
Sunday details: The club stands will be laid out around the edge of the track, hopefully if we can get the sort of numbers we get at The Gathering this will be pretty spectacular. The promenade is still under discussion, both us and Goodwood reckon it can be done, but I want to make sure it is done safely, moving cars and people don't always mix well broadly though we'll be able to take groups of cars out and round the track at a reasonably speed, and then back past the club area to park up again.
Tickets will be available on a per day basis as well as a weekend ticket with camping (which will be larger than The Gathering, but still limited (there is only so much sleep I can lose)). Saturday night activities are in the works, a drive in cinema with at car food service seems like a good idea at the moment We're still working through those thoughts though.
We're really excited about this. It is a big step for us to add another large show to our calendar. I'm announcing it here first and look forward to feedback, I've got another meeting with Goodwood this month to cross the t's and dot the low case j's, so we'll be able to release pricing, but expect it to be similar if not the same at RR Gathering.
Retro Rides
Got an average of being excellent
