Worried about your account? Worried about cost? Way too much worrying for internets.
It really amuses me that all these firms think that they are a necessity in life when quite simply... they're not. Get back in your box photobuquet.

Timely thread bump... I'm still working on our image hosting stuff, it is pretty close now, has image resizing in it now and I'm looking to re-host the photobucket pictures so we're not reliant on that platform continuing to work for us to be able to fetch pictures from it. I'm also working on the account set up etc. I will need to look at some kind of paid options even if it just to offset my costs a bit, but that will need to be worth people actually spending on, so I'll draw some triangles and open some spreadsheets and work that out. Hopefully first cut will be coming this week, although I have a lot of stuff to do with Gathering and my actual day job as well!

just thinking out loud HoTWire but are you creating a paradox where people will continue to use photobucket free or low cost packages, because you've modded RR to show the images?

the workaround should only be viewed as a temporary fix to allow people to move stuff elsewhere.... anyone who continues to upload to photobucket will be in for a nasty shock when they go bump and all the images are lost.

Possibly slightly daft question... is the magic you're working going to re-host all the pics from everyone's old RR threads which used to have Photobucket-hosted images? Or will we still need to individually fix / re-host our own old threads should we want to keep them alive? Sorry if I'm being a bit slow...

test What's wrong with that picture..... Something is setting of my not quite what I expect radar?? nowt, taken with my camera phone a year or so ago so not the best quality. lights are standard, just the number plate relocated and badge less grill. passed its MOT not long back but we found an oil leak from the crankshaft seal.......not had time to inspect.

has image resizing in it now Somewhere else I think I read that you're resizing to 1024 on the longest side, if you have an image smaller than that it looks like you're expanding the image and losing quality.

How do I upload on here using flickr?? Thanks guys! Click that when you are looking at your photo Then click on the BBCode bit in the pop up. Also select 1024xwhatever it is, for best size It'll give you a link/code to copy.

I'm not sure if this has been posted but there is a way around the photobucket problem, by modifying the image link. Not sure how long it will last though. Add the tag ~original to the link, after the jpg or png address.

Well I cant get any of the alternative sites to work properly. Tried flickr, imgur, imageshack. They all show the link to the picture but not the image itself. Bloody photobucket

you need to paste the bbcode version of the link not the display page link.
