Photobucket seems to have turned nasty and wants me to pay $400 a year to use 3rd party hosting for my images on forums. Anyone else found this? Apparently the terms and conditions and everything else seems to have changed yesterday (28th) forcing users to pay exorbitant amounts to keep 3rd party hosting $400 per year or $60 a year for the basic. The site is buggy as hell, plastered in adverts that create loads of pop ups and is generally useless. Anyone got any decent long term alternative as i have nearly 4000 pictures in my photobucket Have a pic from my PC as thanks

Flickr, Google Photos, Dropbox, Microsoft drive will all host photos for flavours of free.

It is a bit weird, mine seems to be working fine, all my pictures and even my sig are through photo bucket. Maybe they've changed the amount of free photos you're allowed or introduced a third party limit. I think they're on their way out, photobucket still to this day hasn't created a decent Ipad app. Just continues to get worse and worse. I'll be switching everything over to my Flikr soon.

I just checked both of mine and all i get is an offer for an extra 100GB storage for £9.99 ? Could you have a pop upvirus or worm ?

It has turned to sh!t the last few months.
On my iPad it wants to offer me all sorts of ad free sh!t for a significantly increased yearly subscription fee, and often I cannot load from the iPad
I have also got thousands of photos on there.... so moving seems impossible.
And there is no way of actually contacting them by email etc either.
I hate Photobucket for sure.

Imgur is totally free and you can disable the whole "share my image" thing on there so its just a host.

Re Imgur; Assuming that you only want to put the images here (RR) and will keep a copy on your own PC, just drag and drop into the post. Have a picture of an old Aston Martin If you want to use it elsewhere copy the link from the post. No need for an account or fancy uploads etc. If you treasure your images always keep an copy (preferably backed up).

Ahhh bumhats, pretty much all my thread photos are on Photobucket, not sure i like my new avatar either. Thanks photobucket looks like it might be a long weekend of updating all my build threads.

I just got that email too, looks like all my old build threads are about to become very pointless as I'm not upgrading or faffing about re hosting all the photos Another nail in the coffin for forums I fear, what with social media and now PB breaking all the photos more and more forums are going to become ghost towns.

Just created merry hell with my thread so I have just started transfering to Flickr and repairing.

As you can probably tell by my shiny new avatar, I am in the same boat...
It looks like this is the final nail in the coffin for photobucket. As others have mentioned, it's been going rapidly downhill for the past few months with increasingly intrusive and annoying adverts, and surprisingly none of this is making me want to pay to use the site
Sounds like Imgur or Flickr is the way forward for me, only 3 build threads to sort out... deep joy.

I've got thousands of photos hosted on there going back years but what was a good hosting platform has turned into a buggy pile of wibblepoo... I hate it but can't be bothered to move all my pictures.... maybe just leave them there and move to a new host.

mine seems to be working but I haven't uploaded any pictures to it for several years as it went to wibblepoo many years ago, I moved across to FlickR a while back for my high res stuff and gave up on Pbucket as its just a bucket of poo.
