I replace all the rear bushes, and it felt better, got a wheel alignment done. Now in faster longer corners, I drive it in, and hold the wheel, then in sections the car dives into the corner further and releases, so seems to be fighting it in the corners.(feels like the wheel tucks under)
I can assume a few things, alignment is out, or new rear bushes put extra loads on the front end and something is letting loose? Checked front wheel bearings, and all front bushes, no real signs of wear or movement, shock tops look OK, ball joint have worn rubber covers, ARB connecting rods feel good... Back bush bolts still seem tight.
What could my problem be?
Might get the wheel alignment checked again tomorrow... Thanks in advance.

Is it the awd model? Could the system be doing something odd with power transfer?

I've driven cars with the front ARB removed/ missing drop links and they feel like this. Maybe the front ARB has snapped? it's a bit far fetched but your description is exactly what I felt.

Maybe the DSC system braking one of the front wheels to help the car hold its line? have you tried it with traction control and any DSC type systems turned off?

Appericate the hints on what to check...thank you. Balljoints are not so good, but this feeling is new. Got it aligned again today(not fixed it), yes they said it was out, and checked other stuff, said one drop link was not too tight but no real bad movement. While everything in the front need replacing...now is not the time(holiday next week) and it all still looks usable. Considering a rear leaking shock....it might be letting go, and diving the front.

I'm not familiar with the suspension set up on these, but what is controlling the rear toe angle and is it worn/fitted incorrectly/loose etc?

Live axle on the rear on a pair of trailing arms and a single top link.

Had a very similar problem today with a mini, swapped a rear tyre which didn't feel to be wearing flat and problem solved!

Not familiar with the XC90 but all the BMW AWD vehicles are super critical on tyres. Not only do you need to have BMW approved tyres fitted to avoid transfer box wind up and subsequent damage but the tread depth has to be reasonably equal on the same axle. That moght be your problem so worth looking at.

Live axle on the rear on a pair of trailing arms and a single top link. Nothing too technical there then.

I'd also say dampers.
The fact that you've had the wheel alignment done would also do this ; the toe of a car can surprisingly bring about more grip if it's way out which also will induce more roll.

Found a bush bolt loose...more than finger tight...total movement could have only been 1mm...but tightened and seems to be fixed now. Thanks for all the direction and hints on possible problems to look at.
