wanted carburettor for vw golf MK1 1.8

Hi thanks for the post, however the 1.5 jets on the carburettor are different to the 1.8 engine

You can take the jets out of your 1.8 carb and fit them to a 1.5 carb.

I would definitely recommend upgrading to the weber as the choke size on the pierburgs are small and choke the engine a lot. I fitted a weber to my 1.3 (32/34dmtl), the choke sizes were 4mm bigger on the weber, it felt like a completely different car afterwards as it could breathe so much easier which allowed it rev much more freely.

You will want a weber 32/34dmtl and thsee are plentiful on ebay and land rovers used to have them fitted so plenty on ebay.
