Help please ! Ive been trying to find out car prices in the UK in 1981 and Google is letting me down. Does anyone know any good sites? Basically I'm trying to find out what was available at the same price my car was new. BMW 320 - £6790 plus Baur conversion, £2622 = £9412 ! Thanks in advance, Neil

Your best bet might be to do an image search for old magazine adverts like this But it might take you a while!

It may be easiest of all to buy an edition of Motor magazine from 1981 on ebay. I believe that it always had new car prices in the back along with roadtest results of the day? Maybe What Car? was around back in 81 too.

Your best bet might be to do an image search for old magazine adverts like this But it might take you a while! But not that one specifically as it was an April fools prank advert

I bought a copy of Motor magazine on eBay for £2.99 posted, so I've got my answers. Tell you what, tho, it's much more interesting than ANY current magazines in my view - and the adverts ! Bliss .
