Anybody dipped their car?

I've removed plasti-dip from a car that was sprayed by someone in their garage at home. It comes off easily in areas where it's applied thick, but where it's thinner it's a bit of a pain to get off and makes a bit of a mess. We used thinners and rags, and elbow grease. Getting it out from between panel gaps and joins of plastic bumpers was also not very fun.
The parts where the stuff had gone on dry (where he was running out of plastidip) looked rough and generally shoddy, particularly considering it was covering decent shiny paint!

I guess people like it because it's a colour change without the commitment or cost, but unless it's going over good paint (in which case it's a shame to hide it) you've still got to get rid of any rust bubbles, and areas where the paint underneath would lead to poor adhesion or a rough surface. To me it seems like a lot of work for something temporary, but I'm sure plenty of people will disagree with me.
