	Right Lads and Lasses, different one for you. My son has bought an adapter plate off Ebay, which was sold to us as a Rover V8 to type 9 ford box adapter. First thing we notice is that its got a Ford stamp and numbers on it. Numbers read 78HM - 6A373 - AA, then the Ford oval, and below that 33 - 68 - 36 140 mile round trip, and Rover V8 it is not. Type 9 it may be, but its dark now and I'm not crashing around in the shed trying to find the Bellhousing we've got spare tonight, will look tomorrow. Pics don't seen to want to upload ATM, will try again later, but its made from about 6mm steel plate. Ideas anyone? Tia

	Bad news unless its been redrilled its for a pinto engined transit. www.transitcenter.uk/steel-plate-between-gearbox-engine-ford-transit-1978-1988-p-2778.html It might bolt upto a type 9

	Yeah thanks Dodgerover thats exactly it, looks like I'll be on to the seller for a refund then, but I'm not driving 140 miles to take it back!!

	It will fit a pinto to a 'diesel pattern' mt75 smiley transit gearbox. They can be a useful thing, but obviously not for yourself! The 'best use of one of these woyld be to allow you to fit a zetec to said gearbox, as the box is miles shorter than a type 9, stronger, and has the shifter on top. Plus they're about 30 quid instead of £200+. Never actually needed to do it for one of my builds though.

	The van MT75 also has a huge bellhousing (to clear thelarger flywheel and clutch the van has) and wont fist most car trans tunnels
