So, this cropped up on street machines facebook page. Anyone know anything about it? I like it, everyone loves coloured windows right? Feel free to bang some more anglias of all flavours on here

Opening rear quater windows are cool! Factory option or period aftermarket?
Whats the deal with the second one? An idea that didnt make production?

From the blurb I found with the pic, its a Friary Estate Conversion. IIRC, Friary used to convert PA Crestas into estates, they were a coachbuilder/conversion business. I think the Anglia Estate came out in 1962 ( happy to be corrected) so the Friary conversion, I'm sure, would have predated that, creating an estate before Ford actually decided to build a version.

Normally id agree, saloon rear end every time. But this car in saloon wouldnt work as well IMO.

My mind was too busy revelling in the sea of red. Hadnt noticed all the cobwebs on the interior untill I looked at the back pic again.

I love it. That rear end work is amazing and the red tints are superb.

Love that - I can't stand the back of the regular Anglia estate as Ford built it; keeping the saloon rear lights and fins is exactly what they should have done!
