tl:dr Reccomend an immobiliser and tracker which will work abroad.
I'm taking my mini to Ireland later this year and although I'm aware it's not a Mk1 Escort, I'm terrified of losing it in another country!
It currently has an aftermarket immobiliser which, after careful investigation (starting the car with it armed), I've realised doesn't work!
I've had two cars in the past with decent immobilisers and funnily enough, both have been Autowatch ones like the link below.

What are people's thoughts on them? I know it won't stop it being lifted but it would help me isolate the ignition without just wiring a switch in.
And finally, has anyone got real world experience of trackers? I don't have a massive budget but I worry that the home brew phone ones are either simple to confuse, unreliable or won't work abroad.
