Just picked up a runabout and noticed it has a fibreglass patch on a sill. What it's covering up I don't know, but upon prodding it's solid.
Does it need stripping back for an mot?
Seeing as the other side needs a patch I presume it's to hide rust.

If it's obvious the screwdriver will come out... It aught not to. The MOT manual only allows you to use only the specified 'corrosion assessment tool' (funny toffee hammer) and 'thumb pressure'. But it needs sorting properly even just for the OP's piece of mind if nothing more. Sounds like a 'orrible bodge.

I sorted it today by scrapping it.
Jesus for a 2003 motor you should have seen the rot on it. both sills like paper, the bloody paint was holding it together. Italian tin..
