So I ve not actually picked it up yet but tomorrow I shall be the proud owner of this old brick! Long story short, I need a 7 seater, or at least a car thats capable of being one, this came up on fleabay and I was instantly drawn to it, 12months MOT, really comprehensive service history BUT Its done just over 200k, I m not really bothered, ( I had and old 940 Wentworth that had done nearly 400k, and that only died because some knobber drove into the back of it) its been well looked after and I only use my car at the weekends so it should be a good, fun family bus for a year or two! Will post more tomorrow once I ve got the beast home.

Look at it this way... At 18 years and 200,000, it's averaged 11 thousand a year. If you keep it for a year or two, only used at weekends, it'll be a low miler when you sell it on! Looks nice anyway.

Had to double take, I thought it was my old one, mine was the same colour, a T5 remapped to 304bhp with 18inch pegs . They're cracking cars, mine had over 130,000 miles on it when I bought it but was barely run in. Wish I'd never sold it but I didn't use it enough, I'll post up a photo when I get a chance. Lovely car you've got, do you have any plans for it ?

Well it was a long day (4 hour train journey just to pick it up!) but I m glad I made the trip, Its a good example of a v70 p1 T5.
I took took it fairly easy on the way home, but its one of those cars that you really don't realise how quick it really is, especially for the size of it!
So far I can only find one fault, which is a slightly worn ignition barrel or loose connection in that area. I had a bit of a panic when I turned my main beams on and nothing happened, and them the indicators stopped working, but after pulling up at the services and checking the fusebox I quickly found it was to do with the ignition barrel, a little wiggle and all the lights sprang back into action.
Been sat looking through the service history and reciepts, its been really well looked after, and it shows, it drives like a car thats done 20k not 203k!
I've got a set of pop up seats for the boot on the way so thats the next job on the agenda, and I ll have a look at the ignition barrel over the weekend. My old 940 had a similar fault, I ended up leaving the key in the ignition of that one and hot wiring it all the time in the end because I couldn't be bothered to change the barrel!
After that, who knows, may go for new rims or just refurb the current ones. It needs more lows and I am tempted to remap it, just depends of I can find anyone who can do it and for me to decide whether a remap is worth it on a 200k motor!
More updates soon
Phil

Our 850 t5 had the ignition problem, no lights or or indicators and the abs light on, turn the switch back slightly and all is well. Common fault, no need to remove the barrel, just the switch on the back. 10 min job. Genuine part only and about £50

Love your 850, I prefer the 850 front end, I was looking for one but they seem harder to find now, well within my budget anyway.

Made my first purchase for the Ovlov today, only a silly one as I saw these on ebay and they made me laugh Prancing moose stickers, I ll see what they look like on the car, they may not be a permanent feature. I need to find a couple of fog lights for the front and a new bumper trim thats cracked, thats next job on the list Took it to the car wash today too, was a bit grubby after the drive back on salted roads Cleans up really well and I love this bronzy colour! Anyways, will post more when I do some actual work to the thing!

Had a bit of time to work on the Volvo today, so I went about fitting my pop up seats in the boot, I managed to find a full kit on ebay for £100 delivered, bargain! It only took about an hour to fit, but one of the seat belts seems to be broken, its not majorly important that I have it at the moment so i ll keep searching for a replacement, I ll probably stop by the breakers over the next few weeks I ve been looking at my options for alloys, I quite fancy a set of Jag S Type alloys for it, the pcd is the same but the centre bore is slighty smaller so I d have to open them up a little. Its been done before but I think they look great on a Volvo Once I ve got a set I ll be able to figure out how much I can lower the car by

Started poking around the engine today, needs a bit of a clean and air intake pipe replacing and then I think i ll go for a remap, been told a MTE remap is the way forward, £355 and I can do it myself via OBD2, anyone had any experience of doing these?

I'm using an MTE map on my T-5R, I find it much more progressive than the Rica map I also have, in fact I have an ecu for just about every occasion
