After RRG16 I parted out my 5 and needed a new daily for winter, bought a K10 Micra...
...but it just didn't tick the right boxes for me. Ended up with another 5 purely because it was cheap and local, I promised myself not to buy another but it happened and after selling the Micra I had change left over:
Always wanted an early Phase 1, GTL spec too so it's plush and has everything most of them don't usually have. Used it as it was for a week and then it got a swift hit with the lowering stick, and then a month or two after some cool rare wheels and necessary attention in other areas.
As luck it has it it decided to die on me over winter, I've changed everything that usually goes wrong on these such as the AEI unit and the TDC sensor as well as all the basics and it will finally start but there's a 1 in 20 chance really, so the investigation continues.
Anyway in the meantime I needed a runaround and I decided to get something sensible but not boring, I didn't think to look for one of these since they're quite rare but when I saw it I knew it ticked all the boxes. Went to the middle of nowhere to collect it, seemed too good to be true for the price and it's probably the best car I've ever owned and is already proving practical despite being pint sized, my only concern was that being 6"3 might pose an issue but it's not too bad. Had a week's ticket on it so I took it for another and it flew threw with no advisories so I'm fairly chuffed.
Managed to squeeze an entire R5 interior into it as well as a pair of bumpers..
It's in dire need of some smaller, more OEM wheels and some slight lowering but aside from that it's perfect as is. Parts availability isn't great seemingly but so far it needs nothing, will update the thread if/when I do anything with it, probably something similar to this, nice and simple looking.
