www.gasmonkeygarage.com/yes-aaron-the-bearded-wonder-is-leaving-gas-monkey-garage/just watched the latest fast n loud about doing another hot wheels car . 2/3RD the way through he up sticks and leaves !! reasons given are personal but did a little digging on the net he wasnt a happy bunny long hours time money alotted to builds etc .Some are saying the drag race with the diesel brothers upset him as he felt like he was cheating .I hope he goes to mis fit garage now lol

Is new season on discovery?
Shame he has left, but tbh I'm not surprised after the Bike build off episode - don't think the argument over the Harley was scripted.

I expect we'll get to see it when the current Wheeler Dealer run ends. They posted on facebook and twitter that AK was leaving a week or two ago. A shame for the show but probably better for Aaron. I hope he'll feature in a new show because I always liked his ideas and i'll miss seeing that Falcon. I always got the impression that he would be just as happy building cars with no TV show. A Gas monkey thread needs pics so here's one of my favourites.  |

Shame, I usually detest most American car shows as they all get overly scripted, even Wheeler Dealers has gone downhill in my opinion since it moved over there. But I've always been a fan of Fast and Loud, the only one I'll happily sit and watch.

Old news. This was busted on Bangshift about 2-3 weeks ago. Aaron and Kc are supposedly doing a YouTube video show. They were photographed together in gas station fueling up a pair of sn95 mustangs.

theres been videos on KC's facebook page for weeks now with both him and aaron, the hotwheels epsiode was on before christmas aswell in the latest clip for the next fast n loud aaron is in the episode  |

As much as I'm a fan of Fast n Loud I think the program has probably run its course. Dave Kindigs Bitchin' Rides is worth a watch.

Most of those guys were car-building mates before FnL and GMG started, so they'll still be turning spanners and driving things hard long after they're flavour of the month. Even some of the former monkeys and misfits (Scott, KC, to a lesser extent Kiki) are still seen hanging out together once they've left the show.
I suppose the publicity from a Discovery or History Channel is good if you want to get your name out there (for sponsorship of projects, racing etc) but you're at the mercy of the scripting and editing departments, who can make pretty normal guys seem like prima donnas or total plonkers. With your own youtube channel, you can just make shorter videos with less "drama", more "this is what we're doing and why".

When was the new hot wheels truck episode on? Not been shown over here yet.
I like the motors on bitchin rides but cant stand thar Kindigs stupid wispy beard. Really puts me off along with the shop foremans really camp voice...
And why does that other dufus insist on tucking his ears into his baseball cap?
The cars are top drawer though

I find with GMG you can spot the fake episodes from a mile away (like the one with Burt Reynolds). The ones where they seem to just build a car with minimal storyline are my favourite, especially warts & all - they show problems during the builds.
I was suprised on one episode i watched recently they got a crate motor and it was knackered. Allbeit i think it had sat of a year, but it was toast. They publicly named the company in the episode and their disdain for them.
Ive not seen anything with AK that would cause him to leave though, maybe I'm not up on my episodes..

From what I read it was down to the builds being short on time and on budget but IMO you can't blame Richard Rawlings for trying to keep a lid on the spending, it seems to be that AK always wants to build the best car possible no matter the cost which is great as a customer but not great as the man holding the purse I guess. Every single reality build show always seem to have crazy deadlines, back in the days of American Hotrod it was the same and they lost the majority of their staff during the first two seasons. |
