Hey guy's, I will try to keep this brief. A few years back I used to own a white Capri that I put a ca18det engine in, it was on the road briefly and it was one issue after another, it went rotten and I got hold of a 5 linked x pack, to transfer all the bits in to, due to lack of time and funds and I sold up (which I regret to be honest) I saved for a while and got a Land Rover Defender 110, which I bloody loved! It was great fun! Anyway, a while ago it was stolen and I didn't really know what to do, should I buy another defender? Should I get something else? Should I just give up and not bother trying to have something interesting? I had even considered selling my Sierra and just buying a dull modern, but decided no, f#$* it, it's my hobby and passion, I am not letting some thieving scum ruin it! A few days later the enine in my sierra went bang, I got another engine and me and the missis took it to my friends where we would be doing the engine swap and had a bit of a rant about thieving scum, blah blah blah, meanwhile my missis was waiting in the van, so, my friend offered me a Capri and I said yes, went back to the van and said to the missis "well...bought a Capri" thankfully she just laughed and said "you were gone for 5 minutes!" And that was that...back into Capri ownership!
That was longer than I had planned...anywhoooo...the car!
It was originally a 2.0 Laser which was owned by another friend who had basically had all the bodywork done and had it resprayed, rebuilt the engine etc etc, me and Nick had done a fair amount of the work but the owner lost interest and sold it to Nick who finished it off after re-rebuilding the top end of the engine! Decided that he had just built someone else's car rather than his own and wanted to sell it! Happy days for me! I would have liked a project, but for the price I couldn't say no!
Basic specs:
Recent respray in Radiant Red
Rebuilt 3.0 Essex v6
New bushes and suspension
Mk2 bumpers
Federal grill
American Slot Mag wheels in 14x7
Red Strobe interior
First thing was new mirrors that I could actually see things in!
I wasn't a fan of the wheels and they are the best way of making a car more "you" in my opinion, so off go the 14x7s and on with some 16x9s that are more to my taste!
There are more plans in the pipeline, bonnet mods, lowering and something a bit different for fueling among other bits to make it more my own, I will keep the updates coming as and when and I will get some more detailed pictures!
