I'm rebuilding the heater blower unit in my car and i need to replace all the foam. Where can i get it? Ive tried searching ebay, but can only find closed cell firm stuff. I need 5mm thick open cell sticky back foam.

I had good results using a PC mousemat (the type with cloth backing not shiny plastic, it's only about 3mm thick but exactly what I needed for my heater) I'm sure there are more "proper" options, but it was handy for me.  |

I use camping bed rolls for new seals but it's a bit stiff for the flaps ?

You need foam with a low LD number. I don't understand how or why its numbered this way but I do know that anything below LD20 is soft enough to get part way to what you need. Even closed cell foam will do the trick if you can get one soft enough... Try a search for LD12 as that seems to ring a bell. Failing that any upholsterers should be able to supply what you need as off cuts.  |
