this is not happening on any other of the forums at the moment , is anyone else having the same thing ?

Okay so I now have control of the adverts on this site. They are purely from Google right now, so it is interesting you are having security pop ups. What browser and computer/device is it?

I occasionally get this on here, say one in every 50 times I visit? I just top right X out of the whole thing including RR and come back as It's obviously some sort of scam. I can't remember what it says as I'm scared to death of this type of thing and click X rapido style!!

I've had similar sometimes when accessing RR using Chrome on Android, not security though they were free iphones or something, had to shut down to get rid of them as they wouldn't close.I had a week where it was happening every time and only on RR but it seems to have stopped now.
Never had it on the laptop but use Firefox on there.

Just for reference I only did the ad switch to pure google ad stuff today, so I'll be interested to see any problems over the next few weeks. I'm hoping I can get us to a place where we don't have these problems.

I get problems using this site with one of my older laptops running an old version of windows, the antivirus keeps telling me something along the lines of an "An unauthorised site tried to access this computer".
It doesn't happen all the time, sometimes nothing but other times it'll keep popping up every 30 or 60 seconds for as long as I'm logged on.

Something like : The security certificate for this site has been revoked. This site should not be trusted ? The site has always been ok for me (it was fine before lunch today) - but now I'm getting a pop-up on the laptop - I need to close the popup before I can continue. Laptop spec : Retro! Windows7, browser Maxthon v4.4.6.1000 (browser "about" says "Browser is up to date" so I guess it's the latest version) Edit : new message now appearing at the top of the screen : To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors.Browsing on my tablet is fine, no popup gremlins there. Tablet spec : Hudl2, browser Maxthon v4.3.4.2000 Never a dull day!

^^^ Gents, consider yourselves this weeks RR brownie-points winners Simple version : Someone did something* and broke the web (certificates). The broken bit has been fixed but it may take a while for the fix to reach your pc. Background : Apparently "they" have fixed the problem but cached certificates may continue to cause problems "for some time to come". Eventually things should sort themselves out but the message will continue until then. If anyone want to try the technical fix, read on... The Register (Tech/geek website ) explains the recent hiccup : www.theregister.co.uk/2016/10/13/globalsigned_off/"GlobalSign's efforts as a root certificate authority have gone TITSUP this afternoon – that's a total inability to support usual protocols. The organization has set up a support page for IT administrators and folks looking to fix broken HTTPS certificates." Their link leads to "View and/or Delete CRL, OCSP Cache" page support.globalsign.com/customer/portal/articles/1353318-view-and-or-delete-crl-ocsp-cacheThe instructions that worked for me are : Go to Start Menu > Run Type cmd and press Enter
If you’d like to only delete CRL cache: certutil -urlcache crl delete
Rebooted the pc, it's now working ok with no pop-ups. Result! They also say if you want to delete both OCSP and CRL cache: certutil -urlcache * delete
Nice to know but I didn't need to try that. i.o.u! * always remember the old saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it"

I'm still getting these stupid annoying security alert pop ups ! Go to malwarebytes.org/ and download their software - Run a scan, follow the onscreen instructions if it finds any nasties.
