I have sourced four Weber DCNF40s that I am fitting to my Daimler 2.5 Hemi V8 engine. I am trying to learn as much as possible about setting up and tuning weber carbs. A lot of the info about this on the internet is spread out on various forums. Aircooled VW, Lancia, Fiat and other forums all have some info, but ususally not the whole story. I've read Dave Andrews (of www.dvapower.co.uk/ fame?) tutorial here www.s262612653.websitehome.co.uk/DVAndrews/webers.htm but I am unsure if this is valid for the DCNFs? So my question is; What books are good at explaining setting up and tuning Weber DCNFs? Which websites should I read? Whom should I speak to? Currently I have come to the following starting point; Chokes 30-32mm Main jets 120 Air corrector 170 Emulsion tubes F15 idle jet 40 Pump jets ? Aux vents 4.5 Each cylinder in the Daimler 2.5 Hemi V8 is (2.548/8) 318,5cc. It has a stroke of 69,85mm and a bore of 76,2mm Any suggestion on what carb specifications I should start out with?

So the tutorial was Dave Andrews of DVA Powers' work Top bloke who answered my e-mail within 30 minutes - big thumbs up! He suggests that my choice of venturi size is way way too big. His suggestion is to reduce them to 24-26mm and a main jet size of 100. Leaving me with air correctors that are 150. i need to re-read the tutorial to decided the rest. Any help much appreciated Links, books etc?

The Haynes Weber books are a reasonable source of information.

I bought the Weber tuning manual. I'll see if that is any good. If not I'll get the Haynes one.

Hopefully the following will help. I have an excel spread sheet that I use to calculate this info but I have no idea how to share it, so I have just screen shot it. Can you please give me the target RPM as I have gone with 5800 40DCNFs are too big and 36DCNFs are on the large size but you should be able to get away with it. Please PM me as I have various DCNF and parts which.

Wow, That is impressive! Soft cut would be 6500rpm and hard cut at 6800-7000rpm I'll be very happy if you'd send me the sheet via e-mail. I'll PM you my address
