Hi all. Ive not had this long, got it off vpcuk forum, but feel I need something else after having 4 Volvos (now looking back at the French and Germans)
See thread here. www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthre...ds-to-be-lower
And in the interest of not hiding secrets the original sale thread here
www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthre...ith-Manual-Box
Since buying it I have put coilovers on (still have the originals if the new owner wishes to have a comfy ride back)
I did chop the exhaust up for a side exit, then a straight through rear exit, now gone back to standard as my neighbours hate me.
The engine is on 160,000 and uses a small amount of oil. Suspect being cam seal (behind the vvt gear)
Timing over advance comes on when flooring sometimes. Again timing being out a tooth is suspect here, but I had a look and seems pretty straight.
ABS and traction control comes on sometimes aswell. A few restarts cures this.
And gearbox is sometimes a pain to get in gear. This seems to be only when flooring it aswell. Engine being out of line, slack in the cables, I don't know. Not bothered me enough to investigate yet.
Cruise control works fine, windows work (passenger one being slow sometimes)
Remote fob did work after a battery change but is imtermittent so i just use the key now.
Heated seats work.
The seat mechanisms have suffered from lost springs so to move them you need to hold the microswitches down.
In the engine bay I have removed some pipework for the carbon canister and intake. I have the airbox still if you want it all back in.
It was written off a month or so ago. Damage to wing, scratch on door. They wanted to fit new wing, paint door, paint mudflap, new plastic under tray, check alignment. Just silly really, They wouldn't let me source parts or have them only repair wing. So I got a payout and fixed it myself. (It was only a bump to the wing, ridiculous really)
Fresh MOT on it because they asked for it.
Bodywork is pretty good, laquer peel round the radio mast but not loads.
Little spots of rust around but still under paint. Car still looks like a gold beast.
The replacement door and wing are a slightly darker shade of saffron. I have also got the drivers side door to do yet, there is a dent in it and some rust at the bottom. (the new one is all good)
Next step for me was going to be new timing belt and a remap, as I feel this car would really benefit from more power to shift the heavyness.
It owes me very little now after the payout so offers around £500 I think is fair with the coilovers.
Car is located in Flitwick (Bedfordshire area)
Cheers
Mark
