Thank you for the comments and interest, its nice to see there is love for these old tanks. I got the car back in one piece and insured it, I have now taken it to work and left it there in hope of getting the MOT done soon. The only thing I can see is the l/h indicator tell tale is not working. The idle is a bit lumpy too but I can't see an air leak, could be plugs.. It looks pretty all bolted together and polished up. I just need to remember its there and it should be sorted in a day or so. Sorry for the or I phone pics, its all I had. At least its moved eh?

Lovely looking car. I have a huge soft spot for E34s and when my E36 needs replacing (hopefully not for a fair few years yet!) I'll be wanting one. Quite a rare sight now though! Great to see one being saved

Hello, yes it will be for sale soon.
It will be an ebay classified ad.
I now have the V5 and 12 months MOT, and I have to say it drives very well, amazingly smooth Rolls Royce like suspenson.
A bit more cleaning is required (mouldy seatbelts ect and some more jet washing as there is still a waft with the bonnet open when warm. Also need to fit a radio, that's all that is holding up the sale.

Ha, just looked back at the pics of when you bought it, such a great turnaround and another E34 saved from the scrapper or breaking

Thanks, Something really good about the drive of these old things, even though its slow af. Not sure what they got right with old cars and wrong with later ones, but I wish they would put it back. This was my view as I went out earlier today Yes, I'm driving a 26 year old 520i today because I prefer the drive (be it slow!) to the pair of Manual E46 M3 coupes.... So nice to use, its sad that it needs to go, but space and time...

As it has a sun roof check very carefully around the jacking points on the sills. They rot from the inside out but have very good stone guard applied from the factory that hides it until it is very advanced. So it's blocked sunroof drains which cause the sills to rot? I've been trying to fathom out what on earth the reason was for mine going rotten, particularly at the rear end.

The sunroof drains dump the water straight into the sills from where it is suppose make its own way out through the sill drains. This was standard practice with most manufacturers. What it does instead is collect in the seams of the internal strengthening for the jacking points hence that's where they rust. It also gathers at the rear end of the sill. All three of my E34s succumbed to this.

Space is an issue for me too!

What suspension set up was on it? I noticed eibach springs I think, but is it the sport line or pro kit?
Cheers
