1997 R reg, Toyota Starlet 1.3, 103,000 miles.
Masses of service history, Timing belt changed about 85,000. Full service history, in excellent mechanical condition. For its 12 months MOT I changed the front brake pads, re greased the calipers and adjusted the shoes. Put a new center section and gen Toyota back box onto the car.
It has good Hankook tyres all round and, 13" MOMO 4 spoke alloys. Starts on the button every time, steering is good, suspension is good, the chassis is galvanized so there is almost no rust (underside is mega clean, plus all the break lines & fuel lines are plastic coated).
This genuinely is a just put fuel in situation, you need a cheap reliable run-about, this is it. Corsa's, Puntos will break down and Micras will rot, the mighty starlet won't.
Bad points:
Paint,
its pink, it was pink, it faded, in places its peeled, in places someone has drawn flowers (very very badly they look like ginger bread men) on it. I painted the bonnet red (just rattle can) however my friend who needed a very cheap very reliable car has now found himself in a better financial place (yay for him, boo for the starlet) so I am now offering it up as a reliable little machine that unfortunately looks like curse word.
Sony tape deck doesn't work. I have a full 90's spec bluetooth sony unit you can have.
So if you want to paint something, if you need a runabout cheap that won't cost you a bean to run, if you fancy a rat look graffiti car look no further. I want to keep it but insuring 2 cars is stupid to save on petrol.
